Kyoto Stroll 003 - Hakumai Shamisen

On a chilly spring night, at "Omen" near Ginkaku-ji, Hakumai Yamada played the shamisen, taking us on a journey into the world of traditional Japanese music. It felt like Edo-period J-pop coming to life right before our eyes!

The rich flavors of udon, a variety of drinks, the soft lighting, and perfectly tuned acoustics all showed the refined taste of this old establishment.

With cherry blossoms about to bloom, I can already imagine the Philosopher's Path nearby, with its picturesque scenery—like something straight out of a ukiyo-e painting.

This wasn’t just "shamisen"—it was truly "samadhi."
